The program allows invited candidates to apply for permanent residence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This program enables candidates to immigrate to all provinces in Canada, except Quebec.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:10px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>It is divided into three main categories :<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The Provincial Nominee Program<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The Canadian Experience Class<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The Federal Skilled Worker Program<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:10px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Under this system, candidates are awarded points based on objective criteria such as education, proficiency in French and English&#8230; They are then placed into a pool alongside other immigration candidates.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:10px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>At regular intervals, federal authorities conduct draws to invite the highest-scoring candidates from the pool to apply.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:30px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-new-selection-system\"><strong>NEW SELECTION SYSTEM<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:30px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>The Government of Canada announced the launch of a new candidate selection system in summer 2023. To address labor shortages in Canada, new category-based invitation rounds will be introduced.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:10px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>The goal: to invite candidates whose occupations match Canada\u2019s labor market needs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:10px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Work experience in the following fields will be prioritized in upcoming category-based draws:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8211; Healthcare<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8211; Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8211; Trades, such as carpenters, plumbers, and contractors<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8211; Transportation<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8211; Agriculture and agri-food<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:10px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>These new rounds will be in addition to the existing all-program and program-specific draws.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:30px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-french-language-proficiency\"><strong>FRENCH LANGUAGE PROFICIENCY<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:30px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Canada aims to continue developing Francophone communities outside of Quebec to increase the rate off French language proficiency.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:10px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>French proficiency, which already provides additional points under Express Entry, will become a more specifically considered criterion in category-based draws.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:10px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>However, the level of French must be very advanced\u2014candidates must be fully bilingual in French.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:10px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>In other words, with equal profiles, a Francophone worker with professional-level English will have a better chance of selection than an English-only worker.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:30px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>More information on how to apply, as well as the invitation schedule under this new selection system, is expected in the coming weeks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:30px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p> This article discusses a recent development and is subject to change at any time.
