WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW TO
Work in Canada
In Canada, there are various programs through which you can apply for a work permit.
The key point to remember is that you generally need to find an employer who will provide you with a job offer and support your work permit application.
The general rule is that this employer must first request a Labour Market Impact Assessment (LMIA) and a CAQ – Quebec Acceptance Certificate (for Quebec only). Once these documents are obtained, you can submit your work permit application.
However, there are many exceptions to this rule! Our role is to evaluate these options and recommend the one best suited to your situation.
HOW TO START
The process
Except for specific cases like work permits for accompanying spouses, post-graduate permits, or Working Holiday Visas, obtaining a work permit requires a job offer from an employer.
Once you have this job offer, the immigration formalities can begin. The procedures must be carried out both by your future employer and by you as a foreign applicant.
Most applications are carried out online, but in some cases, it is still possible to apply for a work permit upon arrival in Canada.
A work permit application generally takes between 3 to 6 months to process. However, processing times can vary significantly depending on where the application is made.
